In the Native Garden

The purpose of 'In the Native Garden' is to make you aware of what I am observing in my native garden in Villa Rica, Georgia in each month of the year. This will include native plants, shrubs and trees as well as what wildlife is visiting. I will be including seasonal activities such as mulching, collecting seeds, what caterpillars and other insects and mammals are present and what they are eating. Not everyone lives in the woods these days and it may be fun or interesting to you to hear what is happening. To give you some background, we live on acreage with a 2 acre pond and creek. We have hardwoods, pine forest, roadside, field and water’s edge. This gives us a huge opportunity to observe a variety of plants and animals throughout the year.
