Native Plants do well in the home landscape. The Fire Pink pictured above is growing in a backyard flowerbed along with Christmas Fern (Polystichum acrostichoides). It receives dappled sunlight in mornings and full shade in afternoon. It is watered by rain water except for an occasional drink in drought summers every 3-4 weeks. Silene virginica can tolerate more sun and blooms better if it gets at least some sunlight.
